Referenceless place that makes you think about creationism and speculative realities
A (temporarily) desolate landscape with 2 quiet lakes. It was a referenceless place that made you think about creationism. A completely closed world with its own reality where every sign of life was absent. The closedness of the installation left the current unquestioned reality out of consideration. The location where the installation was located, a church, gave the experience an extra sharp edge. The Catholic faith has also spent centuries trying to pass on realities that were not real (such as creation, Adam and Eve, Noah's ark…). The church is a very strong zone to experience a reality other than the real one. To get to the entrance of the installation you had to step through a series of otherwise evolutionary animals. The creatures (fellow creatures), designed by me, were already the first step towards a new world in development. When entering the actual installation, one immediately entered a different atmosphere with its own smell and temperature.
By adding dry ice (as a performance) in the quiet pools of my installation, a chemical reaction took place in the water, causing air bubbles to form and thus allow micro-organisms to develop. A new world was developing.
