Open world

I am trying to make a compromise between human and non-human to introduce a new form of landscape in which the landscape meets my aesthetic preferences, and the non-human is attracted to exploration. At the same time, it is a reflection of how mankind is constantly trying to manipulate nature. I create speculative designs using the landscape as my medium.

Open World is the sequel to Alien Farm. This time it is about a very open and inviting world, where all forms of life are welcome and recorded. The silent waters were exchanged for a lively waterfall that sets the place in motion and emphasises the presence of gravity. There is a direct circulation with the outside world, inviting nature in all its possible forms. Animals find their way into this new world and are registered from a distance.

I present myself as a builder of landscapes that are so alienating and unprecedented that they invite a form of escapism - from reality as we know it. I am someone who works through interior architectural landscapes.

As a designer, I not only respond to our reality, but I appeal to the heterogeneity of society to make latent realities tangible through my designs. When certain zones of the landscapes are framed, the idea of scale seems to fade away and features of dislocation appear. With aesthetics, I make people and non-people think differently about a world that is in stark contrast to their own.
